JD Vance’s ‘Chilling’ Answer To 1 Very Simple Question Causes Jaws To Drop

LOADINGERROR LOADING

Critics are calling out Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), the GOP vice presidential candidate, for a single moment during Tuesday night’s debate that many are calling disqualifying.

That came when his Democratic rival, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, asked a simple question about Donald Trump and the 2020 election.

“He is still saying he didn’t lose the election,” Walz said, then asked Vance straight-up: “Did he lose the 2020 election?”

Vance deflected.

“Tim, I’m focused on the future,” he replied, then tried to change the subject completely. “Did Kamala Harris censor Americans from speaking their mind in the wake of the 2020 COVID situation?”

Walz called that response a “damning non-answer,” and many of Vance’s critics agreed on X:

This is the defining moment of the VP debate. Vance disqualified himself by being an election denier. If you can’t honor the will of the voters, you have no business being Vice President.

And the reason Vance is even here is because Trump egged on his supporters to harm Pence. https://t.co/VqPWa8idlL

This was not a gotcha question, America.#VPDebate2024https://t.co/KUkp9KBEqR

There will be a lot of spinning about tonight’s debate but to cut through the BS this chilling non-answer from Vance is perhaps the most poignant moment for our democracy. https://t.co/KUGlnRmkcF

Damning, disqualifying and cowardly that @JDVance has to keep up the Jan 6 election lies even after 60 court cases, including the Supreme Court, said Trump lost. Vance got the VP nod because he promised to continue the lie. #TrumpSoreLoserhttps://t.co/uomYNe3Obo

Disqualifying. https://t.co/S9RLXOH11j

Devastating for Walz to ask Vance if Trump lost in 2020 and Vance outright refusing to answer. Disqualifying alone.

This was the most memorable and impactful moment of tonight’s debate https://t.co/uQkWjt77hH

OK, this was a big moment. Vance cannot answer this because of Donald Trump. And that’s pretty much all you need to know about this election. https://t.co/PIKD87yAMq

This is the defining moment of the VP debate.

Great finish here by Walz. https://t.co/WtEjzeKhcR

Former RNC Chair: I don’t care where you are on policy. If you cannot answer whether Trump lost the 2020 election, you are unfit for office pic.twitter.com/uJ109QfjmU

Wallace: JD Vance was still unable to say that Trump lost the election in 2020. And in that moment, I think everything that he did for 88 minutes was lost and wiped out by that inability to tell the truth pic.twitter.com/hgbbDDY9W9

Nobody will remember anything about this debate but this. Nor should they. Smug, smarmy lying from a smug, smarmy liar. https://t.co/GXbGkxz5Pu

I wouldn’t vote for Mother Theresa if she couldn’t say Trump lost the 2020 election, and Vance is no Mother Theresa.

We have a democracy to preserve. Vote like this election depends on it because it very well may. #VPDebate2024https://t.co/1siq95lAtP

This was the moment of the night. It perfectly illustrates why Donald Trump is way too dangerous and deceitful to ever be President again. This election should not be even remotely close.#VPDebate2024https://t.co/xEmfdNp0sS

The only moment that mattered in the VP debate. https://t.co/uwb2LFWfvq

This is what will be remembered; even if Vance was smooth and Walz was nervous. It will likely be replayed more than anything. https://t.co/TRlJi7gLI5

J.D. Vance thinks we should have nullified the results of the last election.

Tonight he still (?!) couldn’t say if Trump lost in 2020.

Maybe he feels a little bit nervous because his running mate tried to have the last guy hung by an angry mob. https://t.co/0lZdgyCGLO
