Comedian opened up about his love life before he met his wife, . The couple, who welcomed their second child last year, have been happily married since 2012, but David, 49, says he didn’t have much luck with romance before she came along.
As his popular show , Express.co.uk has looked back at his relationship with Victoria, and the moment he shared exactly when he fell in love.
The Peep Show star appeared on Gyles Brandreth’s Rosebud podcast and was asked about the first time he fell in love.
The Would I Lie To You panellist replied: “I don’t know, I had a lot of crushes on people. The first huge crush I had was on this girl when I was 15 but they were all unrequited for a long time.
“[I first said the words ‘I love you’] to Victoria who is now my wife. I’ve never said that to, I’ve never had a significant relationship other than her…
“I had one sort of two-month relationship with someone else and the odd one-night stand kind of thing over the years but nothing serious at all.

“I thought that I’d probably be destined to be single, but it was very clear to me when I met Victoria that this was different… it was a long wait, but it was very easy, it was clear.”
David and Victoria met in 2007 at an afterparty following the premiere of the blockbuster film, Stardust.
They were introduced by fellow comedian David Baddiel and the Peep Show star “fell in love” there and then.
The pair tied the knot in November 2012 at St Peter’s Church in Belsize Park, North London. David’s best man was his comedy partner Robert Webb and Victoria’s bridesmaids included Claudia Winkleman.
