David Dimbleby, 85, and were pictured on Wednesday at Towner Eastbourne Art Gallery in Eastbourne, East Sussex, where they are curating their first art exhibition, Drawing the Unspeakable.

The exhibition features 200 works and is inspired by the legendary broadcaster’s exchanges with his artist daughter during the lockdown. During this time, the pair would send each other drawings rather than letters.

David told of the art show: “Drawing is really immediate. It’s direct, quick and straight from the heart or mind. It has a vividness and power that we liked.”

Earlier this year, David stepped down as chair of Towner Eastbourne Art Gallery after holding the position for 10 years.

The veteran journalist has made very few public appearances since he stepped down from in 2018 .
