Fans of have been deeply moved by a recent heartfelt tribute to the legendary actress, who passed away last week at the age of 89.

Smith was known for her extraordinary career spanning decades, with iconic roles in films like Harry Potter and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, as well as TV shows like Downton Abbey. Her immense talent and unforgettable performances made her a household name worldwide.

Tragically, Maggie passed away peacefully on Friday, surrounded by her loved ones, with her family announcing the heartbreaking news.

Just yesterday, the West End came together for a poignant tribute to the late Harry Potter star, dimming their lights for two minutes at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 1, in her memory.

The moment was beautifully captured in a clip shared by Hemley, the deputy editor of The Stage, who tweeted, “Theatres in the West End dim their lights in honour of Maggie Smith.”

Maggie Smith died in hospital on Friday, September 27, her sons Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens announced at the time. They said in a statement: “It is with great sadness we have to announce the death of Dame Maggie Smith. She passed away peacefully in hospital early this morning, Friday.

“An intensely private person, she was with friends and family at the end. She leaves two sons and five loving grandchildren who are devastated by the loss of their extraordinary mother and grandmother.

Following the sad news, Maggie’s Harry Potter co-stars also paid tribute to the talented actress, with Daniel Radcliffe describing her as possessing a “fierce intellect” and a “gloriously sharp tongue,” while Emma Watson celebrated her “legendary status.”
