Tipping Point’s Ben Shephard slams ‘cruel’ twist as fans fume player was ‘robbed’

Tipping Point fans were left gutted for one contestant on Tuesday’s episode, claiming she had been ‘robbed’.

During the latest instalment, viewers were introduced to contestants Chloe, Chris and Linda as host put the trio through their paces with a series of tough questions.

After battling it out, Chris and Linda were the final two remaining as the duo then fought for a place in the final.

Despite answering a series of correct questions and winning many tokens, Linda struggled to get her tokens to play ball as she missed out in the final by just a £50 difference.

Host, Ben, 49, was left gutted for Linda as he said: “Oh Linda, what a twist! So cruel, you had no joy in this round, you worked really hard to get enough counters but nothing dropped”, reports .

“So the scores stay as they were when we got here and Chris that means you are today’s winner so well done to you!”

Viewers were left gutted for Linda, claiming she was ‘robbed’ from the final as they took to Twitter, now X, to share their thoughts.

One person said: “Linda was robbed #TippingPoint!”, a different account put: “Lynda going home feeling she was robbed #Tippingpoint” while another said: “So cruel! #TippingPoint!”

After making the final, Chris decided to gamble his winning in a bid of taking home the jackpot counter. However, he sadly missed out on the £10,000 prize as the counter failed to drop into the winning zone.

It comes as Monday’s episode saw contestant Mark take a risk and trade in his money for three counters.

However, the gamble paid off as Mark managed to win £10,000 as he revealed plans to go on a cruise and throw a party with the winnings. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were left delighted that Mark’s gamble paid off.

One person said: “Well Done Mark #TippingPoint”, a different account wrote: “Risk rewarded. Atta boy, Mark #tippingpoint” while another added: “Well done, brilliant!! #TippingPoint.”

Tipping Point has gone from strength-to-strength since first being released in 2012 and it sees contestants answer questions on the subject of general knowledge in order to win counters, which they then use on a large coin pusher arcade-style machine in a bid to win cash prizes.

Tipping Point continues on weekdays at 4pm on ITV and ITV X.
