A woman’s attempt at creating ‘spooky Jaffa cakes’ has gone hilariously awry, leaving social media users in fits of laughter after her treats failed to match the box’s description.

The user, known as @geegeequeen, had been on a shopping trip when she chanced upon a Halloween-themed version of her . The Jaffa-cookies by Frazer Lifestyle Foods are Finland’s twist on the classic British Jaffa Cakes.

Promising an orange hue and adorned with a chilling spiderweb design in chocolate as shown on the packaging, her excitement turned to dismay when she realised the decorating was down to her.

In a viral video which amassed over 9,000 likes, she recounts: “Reason number 400 I have to learn this language because I saw these Jaffa Cakes in the shop, and I thought, ‘oh, that’s really interesting’, they’ve got spooky designs on them for Halloween.

“I’ll get a box of that. Don’t know what that message over there means, but it’s alright because ‘oh, spooky spooky spooky’. Anyway pull the b*****ds out of the bloody packet. Where’s my spooky spooky? And then hidden on the side in English or how very nice of you. You can decorate your Jaffa Cakes with chocolate.”

The caption read: “If anyone wants to teach me Finnish please get in touch… Also Frazer send me more spooky spooky Jaffa Cakes.” users were left in stitches over the error and took to the comments to poke fun at her for not reading the box properly.

One user said: “They basically just redesigned the packed for but it’s still the same orange flavour.” Another added: “The yelling and throwing at the end sent me into orbit,” while a third commented: “The good thing is you still have Jaffa Cakes, God I love these.”

Someone else penned: “In all fairness, I might’ve fallen for this as well even as a Finnish speaker. The package design isn’t very intuitive in my opinion.”

Frazer Group has been contacted for a comment on their product.
