The ‘hack’ is an adaptation of Wetherspoon’s nachos option
Overwhelmed by the number of dishes to choose from on the menu?
One customer’s “hack” may sway your decision – particularly as it can on one of the chain’s most popular meal choices.
Taking to , Macey Newberry (@bigmacnew) shared a video from her local detailing the “secret” menu item she regularly enjoys.
“As you all know, Wetherspoons has a big variety menu,” she began, before listing the various countries’ cuisine on offer. “Why is it with the Mexican food you can only get nachos and it just stops there?” she asked her 42,000 followers.
She continued: “I like to load them up – so this is a life hack if you want to get loaded nachos – simply order a plate of nachos and now listen up because this is how you save a lot of money.”

Alongside footage of herself tucking into her dinner, Macey explained that the key to her success was going to the bar and asking for the nachos to be “customised”. She added: “If you’re in the predicament of choosing between a five-bean chilli and a bowl of nachos – you can get both.”
Now for her trick. “When you’ve ordered your nachos, ask the staff member to add on a five-bean chilli – but not a meal – ask them to add it from the deli plate jacket potato add-on option.
“If you had bought both meals it would have cost you 15 quid – but I’ve just saved you eight quid. You’re welcome.” Grateful for the tip, one of Macey’s followers responded: “I’ll definitely order this next time!”

Another begged: “Please say i can add sour cream cause this will easily be a 10/10!” Macey responded that this is indeed possible – and her sour cream was simply “hiding” on her plate.
Whilst a third recalled: “I remember about 10 years ago when I worked there they had something called Mexican Monday. The nachos are always 10/10.”
