Shower glass gets mucky really fast, and despite the fact it’s not actually dirty, because you’ve recently it, you’ll be able to see every imperfection – which can be embarrassing when you have guests round.

Of course, glass cleaner can be purchased for as little as £1, but @jetlagremedy, who is a professional cleaner, has shared that there’s a better way to get your glass sparkling. “How I clean glass as a professional cleaner”, she explained in her clip.

“I’m gonna show you how I personally clean a screen as a professional cleaner. First up I’ve got some spray which is [dish] detergent and water”, she said. She then sprayed “the entirety of the screen” with it, “both inside and outside”.

Then she recommended using a “cloth or a soft sponge” to wipe the inside and outside of the screen. “I personally find that doing circular motions helps”, she shared.

She said that if your shower head isn’t detachable, so you won’t be able to get the water onto the screen, “use a bucket” or “a bottle of water” to rinse. She then poured the water along the top of the shower screen so it trickled down, much like the water from a shower head would.

The professional then said that she uses a squeegee, to get “as much of that water off” as you “possibly can”.

Then, you’ll need to dry it off with a microfibre cloth, to make it look so much better. To “get a final shine”, she likes to “use Windex or a homemade glass cleaner paired with a glass cloth”.

You need to spray it on the inside and outside again, and then use the glass cloth to wipe it all off. Your glass will then have “no soap scum, no smudge marks”, and will just be “an extremely clean glass panel”.

“You can also shine up those metal parts with some steel cleaner”, she shared.
