ITV Loose Women star yells ‘stop’ as co-stars probe her sex life live on air

‘s Katie Piper experienced an awkward moment when her colleagues teased her about her personal life.

In Tuesday’s instalment of ITV’s popular daytime programme, the audience and viewers at home watched as presenters Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Linda Robson, alongside Katie delved into a heated discussion on Dame Jilly Coopers spicy novel ‘Rivals’.

The book is set to blaze onto television screens as a Disney+ series on October 18. First hitting shelves in 1988, ‘Rivals’ forms part of the esteemed Rutshire Chroniclesa collection of romantic sagas entrenched in the British aristocracy and is the sequel in this compelling lineup.

Famed for her love of Coopers work, Ruth opened the conversation, eagerly commenting: “Looking forward to that one very much. Oh I remember those books very well. We were discussing this morning and straight away it got me thinking, ‘Where did you learn about sex? ‘”.

Katie clearly was less enthused by this line of dialogue, responding to her fellow panellist with: “Ruth you’re giving me the ick. I don’t want this chat at lunch time with my coffee.”, reports . Not missing a beat, Ruth countered: “You’re a grown woman. We are allowed to talk about sex,” leading to Katie addressing the camera, humorously exclaiming: “Hi mum.”

She shared further: “We didn’t really talk about it at home. I learned about it in science class and I think my only memory would be getting slightly aroused by the catalogues and not just the men. It was the men and the women so that was something I had to explore.”

Linda probed with a question, “Did you not have chats with your mum? ” which led to Katie’s flustered response: “No! Stop probing me.”

Ruth then reminisced about school discussions, saying, “Obviously in school yes you had the biology but I’m talking about when the girls would get together. There was always one girl in my school who did it and we all asked ‘What was it like'”.

Katie’s playful tease, “Is this a confession? ” prompted laughter among the group as Linda playfully accused, “I bet it was you.” Ruth firmly denied the claim with, “It was not me.”

The conversation took a tongue-in-cheek turn as Coleen confessed, “It was all trial and error for me. That’s how I learnt, trial and error.” making everyone chuckle before she quipped, “Mainly error.”

Highlighting family ties, Ruth mentioned, “And you have a sister.”

leading to Coleen’s reflection, “Yes I was very lucky that I had five older sisters because my mum was terrible when it comes to talking about things like that so I never went to my mum.”

Coleen concluded with an insight into her family dynamics: “I know she was an expert on it but she just didn’t want to talk about it. I’m lucky I had an older sister because if I was worried I could talk to them about it.”
