The day after dancing to ‘Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy’ by The Tams, the pair appeared on the Week 2 Results show where they , Team GB swimmer and . Ahead of the couple’s elimination, Chris and Dianne discussed the support they’d received since making their ballroom debut.
In conversation with , 52, on Sunday (September 29), Chris reported Dianne’s family had been sending over clips of encouragement for the duo. He said that in one clip his professional partner’s father, , had accidentally “let the cat out of the bag” regarding his daughter’s true feelings on their pairing.
Chris said: “He let it slip that when Dianne was paired with me – even though she claimed she wanted to be with me – she said to her dad: ‘Don’t worry dad, winning isn’t everything’.” After the backstage stars burst into a fit of giggles, Dianne said: “Look who is laughing now!”.
Chris and Dianne have taken inspiration from the latter’s father for their ‘Team Name’ this season.
Chris quipped: “I don’t know who is laughing,” which earned him further raucous applause.
