The Duke of Sussex, 40, arrived at the Royal Lancaster hotel near Hyde Park ahead of the main event as he’s attending a reception to meet the category winners and their families before the awards ceremony takes place.

Harry makes a point of returning to the UK for the awards ceremony each year, as the charity is one of the patronages he kept after stepping down as a senior royal in 2020. He’s been patron of Wellchild for more than 15 years.
The WellChild awards celebrate the inspiring qualities of some of the country’s seriously ill young people and the dedication of those who keep them healthy and happy, including health, social care and education professionals.

Harry will present the Most Inspirational Child (ages four to six) award and deliver a short speech.
It marks Harry’s fourth visit to the UK this year, as he continues to be in a protracted legal dispute about his security while back on home soil.
Today’s awards will be the 13th time Harry has attended the ceremony.
Earlier this year Harry shared a video asking for nominations for the awards presented tonight, and said: “The WellChild awards is our chance to celebrate the extraordinary strength and spirit of young people with complex medical conditions from across the United Kingdom.”
He added: “It allows us to shine a spotlight on the resilience and positivity that they demonstrate every single day and to recognise the incredible support from the families and friends and professionals around them.”

Harry is not expected to meet up with any of his family while he’s back on home soil.
Sources have suggested will not clear time in his diary to see his brother, as the heir is focused on his own work and his family.
But insiders have been slightly more optimistic about a reunion between father and son, as the King is more open to a reconciliation with his youngest son.
However, the timing of Harry’s visit may prove to be a huge barrier to a meeting, as the King is some 500 miles away at Balmoral Castle having attended .
He will be travelling back to the capital this week, but it is expected to be after the duke has jetted off to Lesotho, Africa to drive forward his work with the charity Sentebale.
