Living in a hard water area, is a given – it will develop all along my bathroom taps, inside the kettle, and shower heads if I let it.
For the purpose of my job, I let build up on my shower screen which, not going to mince my words, made me cringe inside.
Hard water stains decorated the shower screen, which wouldn’t come off with simply wiping with a cloth.
Keen to try out a , there’s one natural ingredient that I turned to for my experiment –
Choosing to go with , I put a scoop of the natural agent on a damp microfibre cloth.

Then with only one wipe, I was astonished how the citric acid – naturally found in citric fruits such as lemons and limes – cut through the hard water stains immediately.
Within a minute of gently wiping the shower screen on both sides, the glass was clear – not one stain in sight.
Thankfully no scrubbing was needed, and all I did next was wipe the shower screen dry with another (dry) microfibre cloth.
The whole process was super easy to do and now citric acid is most definitely staying put as one of my favourite cleaning agents.

One of the most effective methods to prevent water stains from developing on the shower screen in the first place is to buy a squeegee.
If you use a squeegee – which you can get from , , and – to wipe away water and cleaning suds after showering, then water marks can be prevented.
The has had outstanding reviews. One happy customer wrote: “I use this daily to clean the glass in my shower. Very cheap but good.”
One complaint, however, was that there wasn’t a “smooth edge” so some areas on the shower glass can be missed if you don’t go over it again.
