Brian Cox mocks Keir Starmer on Good Morning Britain for winter fuel payment catastrophe

Brian Cox bashed and the Labour government this morning as he said that cutting the will be a ‘problem’ for the Prime Minister. Appearing on , the 78-year-old actor shared his thoughts on how the country is currently being run with presenters Ed Balls and .

He said: “I think the problem is this winter allowance thing with the elderly. I mean, I just think that is a bad motion.”

Brian continued: “I mean I do think he’s inherited an impossible position from the , there’s no question about that.”

Susanna put “another view” forward to the legendary actor, saying: “With all due respect, you probably don’t need the Winter Fuel Allowance?” He replied: “No, I don’t need it. But there are other people who do need it!”

The GMB host continued with backing the Labour government, saying: “Their argument is a universal benefit goes to lots of people who can afford to pay their own energy bills.”

But Brian was not backing down as he said it came down to the “principle” of it. He added: “I think the elderly deserve it, no matter what they’ve done, we’ve all paid our taxes. And the richer we are the more tax we pay.”
