BBC Breakfast’s Jon Kay issued a warning to his co-stars’ family as he said Sarah Campbell’s ‘secret is out’. During Monday’s episode of the hit show, the presenting duo discussed the recent news that Dame Jilly Cooper’s popular raunchy novel Rivals has been adapted into a series for Disney+ and it’s set to be released next month (October 18.).
The writer, 87, who has sold over 12 million books and is one of the UK’s most prolific romance novelists, appeared on the show in a pre-recorded interview to speak about the new show.
Sarah took the opportunity to make a confession as she admitted that she hid the book from her mum when she was a teen.
She went on to say: “I don’t think there was a teenage girl in the late 80s who didn’t have a Jully Copper tucked under their arm or hidden in their school bag from their mum.”
Sarah then pointed out: “I hope my mum isn’t watching.” Co-star Jon burst out laughing as he warned: Mrs Campbell if you are watching, I hope you’re not watching. There we go Sarah’s secret is out.”
