has been given plenty of advice ahead of her mammoth cycling challenge next month in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise, but one particular tip has left her in shock.

The Heart Radio presenter will be cycling a lengthy 250 miles from Bude in Cornwall to Leicester Square over the course of five days, to raise funds for the charity campaign.

After the news was announced on the station’s breakfast show, Amanda and her co-star JK proceeded to read out messages from listeners who had sent in their well wishes and advice.

When the host got to one message in particular, she was taken aback by a listener who suggested using bum butter on her journey.

“Oh, this in interesting,” she said, seeming shocked. “Ian has just texted, ‘Amanda, get yourself some bum butter, you’ll need it’.

“That’s not a phrase I thought I’d be saying this morning.”

In response, JK said former Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, 47, had also issued her the same advice.

He shared: “Well, weirdly enough, we spoke to Dan Walker last week, he also advised the same thing.”

Seemingly lost for words, the 53-year-old added: “I need to make sure I’m… well I can’t use any words so I’m not going to, I’m just going to get some.”

“Saddle-ready, that’s what we’re using,” JK chimed in. “That’s the best word to use, I’m looking to my left at the lawyer who’s hand is touching my shoulder… saddle-ready is the phrase to use.”

Bum butter is an antiseptic cream used to reduce friction and stop saddle sores while cycling.

Dan will likely also be using the item himself following his similar announcement earlier this month.

For the same cause, the broadcaster will embark on a Coast to Coast challenge by cycling 200 miles in 48 hours across the UK through Yorkshire.

He said in a statement: “I’m ready to take on the Coast to Coast Challenge for an incredible cause – Global’s Make Some Noise – because I know how they support so many projects and small charities who are changing lives across the UK.

“I am a cyclist but my trips are normally down to the train station or 10 minutes across town so this challenge is really going to push me to the limits.

“I am looking forward to the stunning scenery, but I know it’s going to be a tough 48 hours, so I’ll be relying on the loyal Classic FM listeners to support and encourage me along the way!”
