A Place in the Sun drama as Danni Menzies told ‘you’ve done this twice’ in tense moment

A Place in the Sun presenter Danni Menzies found herself at the receiving end of disapproval from a house hunter for repeatedly presenting properties well above his price range.

The Channel 4 programme entertained audiences anew on Monday afternoon (September 30) as Danni strived to assist John and Carol in their quest for the ideal vacation home on the sunny island of Tenerife.

John and Carol had a modest budget of £120k and were keen to find a two-bedroom abode with stunning vistas and access to a pool. The couple was also open to considering a one-bedroom property if necessary due to their financial constraints.

However, the atmosphere turned somewhat sour when Danni took the liberty of showing them a couple of options that exceeded their budget by no less than £20,000 – much to John’s irritation.

Chastising Danni, he remarked: “That’s top end of my budget and you’ve done it twice now,” reports .

As she attempted to rationalise her decision to tour another pricier listing, Danni noted it boasted several of their desired features.

A sceptical John gamely followed Danni’s lead but couldn’t conceal his lack of enthusiasm upon surveying the contemporary residence, quickly dismissing it as “bland” and sensing “something was missing”.

Viewers tuning in shared their own thoughts on John and Carol’s property hunt, with one spectator bluntly commenting: “£120k is not going to get much in Tenerife.”

One viewer jested on social media: “Danni should refuse to take them to next one unless she gets a 13% pay rise.”

As the episode reached its conclusion, John and Carol were set on making an offer.

Eager to secure apartment number five, John enthused: “I just think when you get off the plane, suitcases in the apartment, you’re on holiday.”

He then disclosed the sum he was prepared to bid.

John began with a bid of £110,000, but as negotiations progressed, he increased his offer to £125,000. While dialogues were ongoing, the estate agency responsible for listing the property revealed they were engaging in talks.

By the end of the programme, viewers learnt that John and Carol’s proposal had been successful. The pair now have their very own holiday home to enjoy at their discretion.

airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
