If you’re currently on a health kick, spinach may be high up on your most-eaten foods list.

However, if left in the bag, it can quickly wilt and look less than appetising – so you may turn to other in protest.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way, and spinach can last ages if stored properly.

TikToker @shopnaturalgrocers shared a tip to help your “spinach last for up to one month”, and it’s seriously .

First, you need to “line an airtight container with unbleached paper towels or a dishcloth”.

We have another low-waste tip: Eat your greens & use this produce tip to keep your spinach fresh longer!

Then, you should “stack layers of spinach with the towels”. You can then seal the container, and store it in the fridge.

If you notice at a later date that there’s “moisture on the top towel”, you can “switch it out to keep it fresher longer”.

Master Class also recommended that spinach can be frozen and put into food, and lasts a whopping “six months”.

They penned: “Freezing a surplus of spinach is a great idea when you plan to use the veggie in a dish where it doesn’t need to be fresh – for example, in an omelette or a purée.”

To freeze spinach effectively, you’ll need to wash it before banishing any bad bits.

Then boil it, and blanch it afterwards. Drain it, then re-drain after it has cooled.

Finally, you can store it safely.

They said: “Before freezing spinach, ball it up in your hands and either wrap each ball tightly in plastic wrap or put them in an airtight bag with the air removed to prevent freezer burn.

“Finally, place the spinach in the freezer for up to six months.”
