Lisandro Martinez was spotted gesturing to angry supporters after Manchester United were taken to the cleaners by . The defender was visibly gutted after goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and saw the visitors claim all three points.

A minority of United supporters remained in the stands after the match, with hordes of fans leaving before the end of play. Martinez was quick to apologise to those who stayed behind, putting his hands up before clasping them together in a praying gesture.

Loud boos rang out around Old Trafford at the final whistle, with United failing to get anywhere near the standards expected of them. They went behind after three minutes when Johnson tapped home after a brilliant run and cross from Micky van de Ven.

United were reduced to ten men before the break when was sent off for a clumsy lunge on James Maddison. He slipped while attempting to tackle his man but did not pull out of the challenge, leading to his boot making contact with Maddison’s knee.
