presenter has revealed she was forced to cut out a scene while filming the TV show as it was “too embarrassing.”
Charlotte, 59, underwent a knee replacement two years ago, which she says has restricted her ability to be as flexible as before – and since her operation, it has caused problems while filming the show.
In a recent interview, the much-loved TV star explained: “Since I had my knee done I don’t like stiles. I find them very difficult because my bionic knee, my replacement knee, doesn’t bend quite… so that’s very inelegant.”
She continued to tell The Sun: “Another presenter you might see doing the stiles but for me it’s too embarrassing so we cut that out.”
But fortunately, while filming the charity special of the show for Children In Need, she didn’t have to overcome any tricky situations.

Charlotte Smith opens up on why she insisted on a scene to be cut
While filming the annual charity TV show, Charlotte is seen with a 10 year old girl named Isabella, who is autistic and requires an assistant dog called Storm, to help her with everyday activities.
The pair enjoyed a ramble in the Peaks as they looked on at cows grazing, immersed themselves in woodland and even came across a toad.
Speaking about that experience, she added: “I’m really proud to be part of it. She’s a lovely kid. She’s really into nature. She just bounds off and finds something and brings it back and talks about it. Just hearing from her family about the change the dog has made, particularly to Isabella, but to their lives was amazing.”

The mother of two continued: “When you have a child with additional needs, that can have a real impact across the family. Getting your children up in the morning when you’ve also got your own deadlines going on is a real flash-point in a family.”
She went on to add: “Particularly for Isabella, she hated getting out of bed, she didn’t want to put the school uniform on, so before they’d even got to getting in the car to go to school everybody had lost their temper and everybody was cross.”
Isabella’s dog Storm now goes into her room and wakes her up, which is a nice alarm clock for the little girl. The dog even goes as far as to retrieve Isabella’s uniform and then she heads to her kitchen to have breakfast, leaving little room for arguments or tantrums.
