Sandra (L) with her Eldorado co-stars in the 1990’s
It’s been over 30 years since the soap Eldorado aired and quickly faded from the screen. Although it was canceled after just one rocky year, the show made a lasting impression on British TV.
One of its key stars was Sandra Sandri, who rose to fame playing Pilar Moreno, the girlfriend of the notorious Marcus Tandy.
Known for her glamorous looks and memorable scenes, Sandri became a pin-up for fans of the early 90s.
Pilar was a central character in the sun-drenched drama set in a fictional Spanish town, where British expats experienced the ups and downs of life abroad.
While the soap faced criticism for rushed plotlines and was ultimately axed, it still holds a place in the hearts of devoted viewers.

The former actress now lives a chilled lifestyle in Spain
Now, more than three decades after her role as Pilar, Sandri looks vastly different from the baby-faced actress who once captivated audiences. She’s now a care-free “surfer chick” with an athletic frame who seems to have ditched the glam for a more Bohemian lifestyle.
Since Eldorado ended, the Spanish star, now in her late 50s, stepped back from acting, focusing instead on her personal life and new passions. She made a real-life move to Spain, embracing the Mediterranean lifestyle she once portrayed on screen.
In 2009, she married and had a child, and now works in the fashion industry, designing clothes, creating prints, and selling handbags. By 2017, she was reportedly living in Lake Como, Italy.
Reflecting on her time in Eldorado, Sandri said: “Eldorado was very nice. I was very, very young. I think if it happened to me now, I would do some different things, but I was very happy. The people from Eldorado took care of us very well.”
