Research reveals hidden-gem staycation spots in the UK
The UK is full of beautiful areas to explore and enjoy as a staycation, and the top hidden-away locations have all been revealed.
Finance experts at the credit card brand Aqua gathered data and compiled a list of the best areas for a getaway that had low social media recognition.
The company said: “While it can be exciting to see social media hotspots in person, sometimes we want to simply relax and explore somewhere a bit more off the beaten path.
“With this in mind, we delved deeper to explore which destinations are the ‘hidden gems’ in our list, with the fewest Google searches and posts.”
:
Top of the list was Robin Hood’s Bay, an old fishing village located in North Yorkshire. The location was described as “an ideal spot for those seeking both relaxation and adventure”.
According to the data from Aqua, Robin Hood’s Bay has only 2,400 monthly searches and 107,859 posts.
It said: “Robin Hood’s Bay is a charming destination, offering a variety of shops, cafes, and pubs to enjoy during your stay. In addition to its vibrant local scene, the area is surrounded by scenic walking and cycling paths.”
