, the charismatic TV presenter, was among the new recruits, teaming up with the talented professional dancer Luba Mushtuk.
From the outset, it was evident that the 62-year-old was thrilled to be part of the iconic programme.
But earlier in the week, Nick injured his bicep during an attempt to change a car tyre, casting some uncertainty over his stint in the competition.
Fortunately, he has managed to stay in the contest and was all set to perform an American Smooth to the tune of Parklife by Blur.

Strictly’s Claudia Winkleman asked Nick Knowles about his arm injury ahead of his performance.
Before he hit the dance floor, presenter Claudia Winkleman couldn’t hide her concern for his wellbeing.
During a break in the show, she queried: “Now I’ve got to ask, how is your arm?”
With a cheerful response, Nick assured her: “It’s good thank you very much. Getting stronger every day and my mate texted me just before the show and said ‘you may only have one arm but you’ve got two left feet so you should be alright.'”
Laughter ensued from everyone, including Claudia, who then praised his partner Luba: “And well done you for the brilliant adaptation, we cannot wait to see your dance.”
Luba was visibly touched by the compliment as Nick humbly muttered that she had been “unbelievable”.
In their performance of the American Smooth, judges gave Nick a warm reception for his efforts.

Craig Revel Horwood remarked it was a “bit ploddy” yet conceded that Nick holds “potential”, acknowledging some signs of it during their dance.
Shirley opted out of criticising his footwork but praised his endeavors: “What you did for 16 hours is absolutely amazing”, referencing the adaptations they made due to his injury.
Nick and Luba walked away with an impressive 21 points for their American Smooth routine.
The stakes are rising on as the show gears up for its first elimination this weekend.
Last weeks grand return saw no departures, with performances judged solely for scores.
But now, the rules have changed – the lowest-scoring pairs will face the dreaded risk of being sent home, leaving their fate in the hands of the discerning judges.
