Strictly Come Dancing star Tom Dean faced an unexpected challenge during his Cha Cha performance when a wardrobe mishap took centre stage.
The Olympic swimmer and his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova dazzled the audience as they opened this week’s show with a Cha Cha to Earth, Wind and Fire’s Boogie Wonderland.
Donning glittering outfits for their dance, the duo encountered a slight hiccup when Nadiya’s costume snagged, disrupting her steps momentarily.
The incident did not escape the judges’ notice: Shirley Ballas remarked on the “tiny mishap” and praised their recovery, while Tess Daly elaborated for viewers at home, revealing, “We had a little costume malfunction! It ripped on her leg.”
Nadiya humorously showed where the rip occurred, joining Tom in laughter over the incident.

In spite of the wardrobe issue, Shirley commended Tom for his poise under pressure.
However, Craig Revel Horwood was less lenient, criticising Tom’s performance for lacking fluidity” – contributing to the pair’s modest score of 20 points.
