made a huge format change to the show just seconds into the live show. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman always walk down the famous staircase to the sound of the live band.
They then make their way onto the stage to welcome viewers at home, before introducing judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood.
But for the second live show, they were already stood on the stage waiting for the show to begin, marking a huge change in the show as it marks 20 years on air.
Meanwhile, their outfits sent viewers wild as they noticed a theme with it immediately, comparing them to Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked.
They rushed to social media to comment on it, as one said: “Tess & claud look like elphaba and glinda its kinda slaying.”

A second person commented: “Tess and Claudia feeling a bit of Elphaba and Glinda tonight?” as a third typed: “Close enough, welcome back Elphaba and Glinda.”
Tensions immediately began to run high as Shirley, Motsi and Craig clashed over ‘s performance with Nadiya Bychkova. As Craig commented on his technique, Shirley rushed to remind him it was only week two.
Shirley was far more forgiving, as she also praised the pair for brushing over a wardrobe malfunction which left Tom’s trousers ripped, as she said they managed to move past it gracefully.

The second live show comes as Strictly has seen ratings drop by a million viewers in comparison to last year, viewing figures have revealed.
6.4million people are said to have tuned in for the first live show of the series on September 21, which was done by 900k from the 7.3million the year before.
The launch episode the week before achieved even less viewers at 5.5million, which is 700k down from the launch show in 2023, at 6.2million.
In 2020, a whopping 10.2million viewers tuned in for the live show.
