He said: “The cheapest way to get new AA or RAC cover through the big boys and girls is via Quidco and Topcashback which are the cashback sites and actually give you quite a decent whack but it’s still gonna be about £80 a year just for basic cover. You’re gonna pay more otherwise.
“You can get RAC if you have Tesco Clubcard vouchers and if you’ve got those stored up you can use those to pay for RAC that brings the price down.”
Each Tesco Clubcard point is equivalent to £1 spent with vouchers issued to customers four times per year.
However, a partnership between the store and RAC means every Tesco Voucher is worth 2x its value to spend on cover.
