Jack Draper overcame Japan Open second seed Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets
Jack Draper has secured another significant victory by defeating second seed Hubert Hurkacz at the Japan Open.
The British number one, who is playing his first tournament since reaching the semi-finals of the US Open earlier this month, triumphed over the world number eight 6-4 6-4 in Tokyo, advancing to the quarter-finals.
This marks his third victory against a top 10 player this year, having previously defeated and Alex de Minaur.
He now faces a last-eight match against either Brandon Nakashima or Ugo Humbert, and Draper will be setting his sights on a second ATP Tour title of the year.
The 22-year-old started strong, forcing a break point in the opening game, although Hurkacz managed to serve himself out of trouble.
However, Draper achieved a break midway through the first set, which gave him the momentum, and he repeated the break in the second set to secure a straight-sets victory.
