ITV GMB star issues breaking Keir Starmer announcement as fans all say same thing

Today’s programme, hosted by and , was suddenly cut to a breaking news clip about ’s trip to New York, where he met with ahead of the upcoming US general election.

According to reporter Noel Phillips, the two leaders were said to have had a “positive meeting.” Despite Starmer’s speech stressing the strong partnership between the UK and the US, he is expected to return to Downing Street, where he faces controversy over allegations of breaking -19 rules.

Starmer revealed he used the property for his son to study for GCSEs during the election campaign, declaring the stay from 28 May to 13 July as worth £20,437.28, though questions remain about why he stayed after exams ended on 19 June.

It was also revealed that Starmer filmed a Christmas video there during the -19 pandemic in December 2021. Downing Street has stated that no rules were broken.

Ahead of his meeting with , expressed his desire to meet both U.S. candidates, saying it’s important to build personal relationships on the international stage.

He told reporters: “I’ve said a number of times, I want to meet both candidates. We’ve now got the opportunity to meet Trump, which is good.

“Obviously, I still want to speak to Harris as well. But you know, the usual diary challenges, but it’s good that this one now has been fixed.

“It’ll be really to establish a relationship between the two of us. I’m a great believer in personal relations on the international stage. I think it really matters that you know who your counterpart is in any given country, and know them personally, get to know them face to face.”

Reacting to the news on X, one person joked: “I’d like to hear that conversation, lots of humble pie being eaten. Starmer is having a crap week.” Meanwhile, another wrote: “Was it a disaster.” A third simply said: “I hope for his sake he meets with Kamilla as well.”

Although one social media user clapped back at the backlash saying: @GMB @Noel_Phillips Your North American reporter referred to the PM as ” struggling to survive”. Have you ever heard such nonsense? At last we have a serious man in charge aiming to sort out the mess he inherited. Judge him on his record in 5 years time and give him a chance before spouting rubbish.”
