Giovanni Pernice in Italy with new dance partner Bianca Guaccero
‘s quit the show following allegations of misconduct by actress – and now he’s returned to Italy to dance with another actress, Bianca Guaccero.
With 840,000 followers, she’s huge over there – and Giovanni will be teaching her dance moves on the Rome-based show Ballando con le Stelle (the Italian version of Strictly). However, while he gives her dance lessons, she’s joked that she’ll need to give refresher lessons in Italian to him.
Giovanni was born in Palermo, Sicily, but left the island aged 14 to train in a Bologna dance school, before finding success in the UK. In a video clip, he jokes to Bianca: “You’ll [have to] teach me to speak Italian, because I forgot!”
Bianca quickly hit back: “Then I’ll leave!” in the video. In the amusing footage, Giovanni defends that he is from Palermo – but it’s implied that he no longer speaks with quite the same accent after so long living in the UK.
Meanwhile, British fans have flooded with calls for the “immaculate” and “dapper” showman to return to London. “You will-certainly set the Rome dance floor alight. Bianca is lucky to have you as her teacher,” one fan began.
