Movie fans are bringing an unusual item with them to screenings of the recently released film, Megalopolis.

The Godfather and Apocalypse Now director Francis Ford Coppola’s latest film split critics at festivals around the globe and is set to release to the public today (September 27).

Megalopolis, the Adam Driver-starring movie, has delighted fans of the director’s work who are celebrating with an unusual item.

Members of heading off to see the movie are bringing an alcoholic beverage fitting the occasion of Coppola’s latest movie – bottles of his .

Coppola had taken a lengthy break from filmmaking and instead focused his time on an award-winning wine-making business, which has delighted those looking for an alcohol and movie pairing.

One film fan took to Twitter/X and wrote: “theres no rule that says you cant bring this to drink at your local amc screening of megalopolis.” Others revealed they too had brought a bottle of Copoola’s Cabernet Sauvignon to screenings of the film.

Another user wrote: “Megalopolis is hilarious,” with an image attached showing them at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Others have praised the incredible idea and say they too will be pairing a bottle of Coppola’s wine with his latest movie. One fan wrote: “Wait omg this is such a good idea. Drinking this and talking to the screen at Lincoln Square IMAX.”

Megalopolis has split members of the public and movie fans with a weighted average of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.7/10 on iMDB. The film’s all-star cast, including Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver and Dustin Hoffman, is Coppola’s first film in 13 years.

Coppola is responsible for several movies considered the best of all time including The Godfather Trilogy, The Conversation and the Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman-starring Dracula.
