But whilst they felt they were being discreet, using coats for cover, they were caught by passengers who noticed what they were doing – including outraged onlookers who saw “vigorous hand movements” beneath the coats.

Witnesses included a mother and her teenage daughter who complained seeing Smith’s “bits” during the incident.

Seated nearby on the plane was a child who could also see what they were doing when they were jetting back home on March 3, earlier this year.

Miss Sullivan tried to excuse the situation by explaining that she was just rubbing her boyfriend’s leg. The couple, of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, were taken off the plane by police.

In court a judge blasted the couple for having no “regard for feelings of other passengers,” reports MailOnline.

Judge Lynne Matthews said: “You had no regard for the feelings of other passengers.

“There was a child sitting behind you who was able to see what was happening.”

She added: “Who do you think you are and what right do you think entitled you to behave in that way in full view of people on that flight?”.

The pair pleaded guilty to one count of outraging public decency by committing a sexual act in a public place at Bristol Magistrates Court yesterday, Thursday, September 26.

The pair received a punishment of 300-hour community work hour for Smith and 270 hours for Sullivan. They were also ordered to pay £100 compensation to three witnesses.

Earlier this year, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary singled out Ibiza as the “worst” destination for unruly passenger behavior, sparking fresh calls for stricter measures to tackle the issue.

The popular airline has observed a “notable rise” in disruptive incidents linked to alcohol and drug use, which have become the top concerns for cabin crew.
