He was heard saying: “You know how I love history. Well, Mary Queen of Scott’s stayed here before her execution, on the way to Northamptonshire.” The pair headed to a tiny village that was famed for its pastries and meat dishes.
Helen, 41, got stuck into making a delicious pie and was told the key secret to making them succulent and crispy. After she had created the masterpiece Dan joined her to try the goods.
Dan told her: “This is like my dream date,” and he came prepared. Helen burst into fits of laughter and went on to say: “Never before have I ever made pastry.”
